The temperature range of motor heating mainly depends on the internal insulation level of the motor. Under normal circumstances, the internal insulation performance will be destroyed at high temperature (above 130 degrees). Therefore, as long as the interior does not exceed 130 degrees, the motor will not be damaged, and the surface temperature will be below 90 degrees at this time. Therefore, the surface temperature of the stepper motor is normal at 70-80 degrees. The simple temperature measurement method is useful for a thermometer, and it can also be roughly judged: you can touch it for more than 1-2 seconds with your hands, and it does not exceed 60 degrees; you can only touch it with your hands, about 70-80 degrees; a few drops of water quickly evaporate. If it is changed, it will be more than 90 degrees.

Motor heating generally does not affect the life of the motor, so there is no need to worry too much for most customers. However, severe heat can have some bad effects. If the thermal expansion coefficient of each part of the motor is different, the change of structural stress and the slight change of the internal air gap will affect the dynamic response of the motor, and it will be easy to lose synchronization at high speed. Another example is some occasions where excessive heating of the motor is not allowed, such as medical equipment and high-precision testing equipment. Therefore, the heating of the motor should be controlled as necessary. When the temperature of the motor is too high, you can choose to stop the machine, rest for a period of time before continuing to work, and you can also add a radiator outside the motor to ensure that the heat of the motor is dissipated in time.
